New Condoms!
New Condoms, a clever Tumblr blog by Max Wright, photoshops the tag lines of famous brands like Nike, McDonald’s, and M&M’s onto condom wrappers. Essentially, when presented in this context each slogan takes on a whole new and surprisingly sexual meaning. It just goes to show that placement of an ad campaign plays a large part in contributing to its impact and meaning.

VTM Spacester
If we had to guess what the future holds, we’d predict that there will be Roombas shoveling our driveways, electric grills that give you that charcoal taste we all crave, and this bike. Shaped by hand around the Harley-Davidson Sportster engine, the Spacester looks like it was stolen from the set of the next Tron movie. A product of VTM (the French custom motorcycle shop), the custom bike sports a front fork from a Yamaha YZF-R1 and a ridiculous amount of machismo. It might be awhile till you can your hands on a bike like it but in the meantime we recommend hanging the pictures above your bed to look at while you’re drifting off to sleep.

Age of the Notebook Kitchen?
The Electrolux Mobile Kitchen Concept combines three basics of modern-day kitchens: a 4-tier induction cooking element, an efficient cutting board and a touchscreen computer for your recipes, downloads and nutrition facts. The placement of the three as a tribute to the laptop makes it a truly portable design. My only concern is the functional relationship between the three. Although the renders make the placement of pots, chopping board and the tablet look synchronistic, but in reality will they hold good? Oil squirts, fumes! Nevertheless, as a camper or travel companion, it fits the bill!

Scientists Design a Fake Volcano for Climate Change Experiment
Earlier this year a group of thinkers around the world gathered at Chicheley Hall outside of London to talk about how to stop global climate change. Their almost universal conclusion was that, at this point, geoengineering is our only viable option. Now a group at Bristol University in the UK has embarked on an experiment — the first of its kind — to create a fake volcano that would help reflect the rays of the sun back into space and away from the Earth’s atmosphere. Rolf Buchholz – The Most Pierced Man in the World
Rolf Buchholz, from Dortmund, Germany has a total of 453 studs and rings all over his body, and has recently been acknowledged by Guinness as the most pierced man in the world.
The 52-year-old computer expert discovered the world of piercing 11 years ago, and loved it so much that he has since then had 453 piercings in various parts of his body. Looking at him, you’d probably think most of them are on his head and face, but you’d be wrong. Rolf has 94 piercings in and around his lips, 25 in his eyebrows, 8 in his nose, and a whopping 278 in his genital area. I don’t need to see it to believe it, but I wonder how he managed to fit that many in such a small area. Apart from his passion for piercings, Bucholz also has a thing for tattoos, and sports a full body suit that covers his entire torso and limbs.

Monsanto – A Portuguese Town Built between Giant Boulders
The charming town of Monsanto, an ancient settlement perched on the side of a mountain in the Portuguese countryside, boasts some of the most incredible sights on Earth. Featuring tiny streets carved from rock and granite houses squeezed between giant boulders, it looks like a real life Bedrock.
In 1938, Monsanto was named ‘the most Portuguese town in Portugal’ which seems strange, considering most buildings in Portugal aren’t sandwiched between two boulders, or have massive rocks hanging above them, but its awarded standing of open air museum, has allowed it to keep its outwardly appearance throughout the years. Due to building restrictions in the area, Monsanto’s appearance hasn’t changed in centuries and has managed to retain its original charm.

Sealander Amphibious Camping Trailer
Can’t decide between a weekend getaway spent at a relaxing campsite or cruising around a lake? Now you don’t have to! Or at least, you no longer have to bring both a canoe and a camping trailer since the Sealander, created by industrial designer Daniel Straub, actually floats on water. Its wide, bowl-shaped design not only provides stability while floating, but it can easily navigate shallow waters without running aground. It also means you don’t need a trailer or a boat launch to get it in the water. Backing it up to a sufficiently cleared shoreline should be more than enough.

Defusable Clock
The Defusable Clock is a fully-functional alarm clock that also lets you practice defusing explosive devices just like you see in the movies. Designed and built by Mike Krumpus from Nootropic Design, when the countdown for the alarm starts you have to snip one of 3 wires to ‘diffuse’ the situation. And every time the countdown begins it’s a different randomly selected wire that does the trick. And you have to replace the wires every single night before going to bed is probably kind of annoying...
